Setting goals to lose the fat is one of the single most important things you can do to lose fat or weight. If you do not take the time to set your goals I can guarantee failure. Every Sports team from Pee Wees to Pros all set goals for the season or year. If you do not know how to get there you will eventually get lost or worse quit. The setting of goals will allow you to have direction and focus for your weight loss program. If you set a goal and set short term goals that all help point to your final goal your chance of success almost become a reality.

When you decide on the proper weight loss program, one with exercise and proper dieting methods you need to spend some time thinking about what you want. You have to program the computer that you call a brain. Remember garbage in equal garbage out, so take the time to think this out properly.

Start by deciding on a long range goal, do you want to lose a specific amount of weight or lose fat. Figure out what you want, it could be you want to lose 50-60 pounds or more. It could be you want to fit in a suit or dress or look like someone you admire. Whatever it is make sure it is realistic and you want to do it. Make it personal, if you have emotion attached to these goals it will help you during those times that you do not feel like dieting or exercising, and they will happen. If you have emotion attached to your goals they become something stronger than just a phrase or a number. These goals are yours so make sure they are important to you and they are attainable.
